Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has invited Senate President Godswill Akpabio and other lawmakers to the inauguration of constituency projects in Kogi State.
The invitation comes just weeks after her return from a six-month suspension.
The invitation was included in a letter read by Akpabio at Thursday’s plenary.
“In marking my second anniversary as serving Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I wish to invite fellow distinguished senators to join me for project commissioning in Kogi State,” the letter partly read.
According to the invitation, the celebration would take place on Sunday in Ihima, Okene Local Government Area, with the meeting location set at her residence.
The senator recommended parliamentarians traveling by air to use the Obajana airfield before continuing by road to Ihima.
Akpabio replied heartily after reading the message, stating, “Congratulations in advance.”
Akpoti-Uduaghan was suspended on March 6, 2025, following a heated debate with Senate leadership about the reallocation of her seat during plenary.
Her protest at the time resulted in claims of “gross misconduct” and a walkout that received national attention.
She accused Akpabio of governing the upper chamber with a “dictatorial hand,” while the Senate President maintained her conduct violated parliamentary decorum.
Although her suspension ended in September, she only got access to her office two weeks ago, following a months-long stalemate and legal filings.
