Holders Paris Saint-Germain delivered a devastating attacking performance to crush Bayer Leverkusen 7-2 and make it three wins from three in the Champions League group stage.
Two goals from Desire Doue and strikes from Willian Pacho and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia put PSG 4-1 up at half-time, before Nuno Mendes, Ousmane Dembele and Vitinha completed the rout.
Pacho opened the scoring in the seventh minute with a firm header from Mendes’ curling cross. Leverkusen had a chance to level when Illia Zabarnyi fouled Claudio Echeverri in the box, but Alejandro Grimaldo struck the post from the spot. Moments later, VAR upgraded Robert Andrich’s yellow card to red for elbowing Doue.
PSG’s man advantage was short-lived as Zabarnyi received a straight red for dragging down Christian Kofane. Aleix Garcia scored the resulting penalty, but PSG soon took full control. Doue’s smart finish restored the lead, Kvaratskhelia’s shot went in off both posts, and Doue struck again on the counter to make it 4-1 at the break.
Vitinha glided through midfield early in the second half to set up Mendes for PSG’s fifth. Garcia briefly lifted home spirits with a stunning 30-yard strike, but substitute Dembele marked his return from injury with a simple tap-in. Vitinha capped the dominant display with a low drive in the final minute.
Despite their Ligue 1 struggles, PSG remain flawless in Europe, sending a strong message to rivals with a clinical seven-goal demolition in Germany.
