In a country where the youths are rarely given opportunities to hold appointments and political positions and where the few who are given such chances often fail to perform or represent the largest demographic group (the youths) effectively youth leadership opportunities remain vital and revolutionary for national development.
As society evolves, it is imperative to encourage youth leadership.
The Honourable Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, is one of the few young appointees in President Bola Tinubu’s administration. He has deployed technological solutions to numerous long-standing problems that his predecessors could not surmount, transforming the ministry and its agencies from a pitiable state to one of productivity and efficiency.
Many Nigerians were previously unaware of the Ministry of Interior’s responsibilities and the agencies under it. Some viewed it as a ministry created only to announce public holidays, while others considered it redundant and unproductive.
However, under Tunji-Ojo’s leadership in 2024, the ministry generated ₦6 trillion from expatriate quotas, marriages, citizenship, and worship permits a remarkable achievement that earned him the nick

name #TheReformist and “Star Boi of Asiwaju.”
Nigerians on X have continued to praise his leadership qualities and commend President Tinubu for appointing a young, result-driven minister who has not disappointed Nigerians, especially the youths.

In less than a year, the Ministry of Interior under Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has quietly reset systems many Nigerians once gave up on.
For years, passport delays defined our experience. Today, that story is changing.
Reforms don’t always trend, but they’re felt in shorter queues, faster IDs, and better services.”
