President Bola Tinubu has conveyed his condolences to the family, friends, and the people of Nasarawa State over the death of Alhaji Isyaku Ibrahim on Saturday at the age of 88 in Abuja.

According to a statement issued on Sunday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu praised the beloved elder statesman as a business leader, politician, and sports booster.

“President Bola Tinubu has sent a message of condolence to the family and associates of business leader, politician, and sports promoter Alhaji Isyaku Ibrahim, who died on Saturday at 88 in Abuja,” the statement read.

Isyaku, who hailed from Wamba in Nasarawa State, was a businessman and an influential chieftain of the defunct National Party of Nigeria in the Second Republic.

He joined other politicians to form the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the transition to civil rule in 1998.

Speaking on the statesman’s legacy, Tinubu praised his lifelong contribution to Nigeria in terms of business, politics, and community engagement.

“President Tinubu acknowledged the deceased’s contributions to Nigeria through his chain of businesses, political involvement, and community leadership.

“In addition to other ventures, the late statesman founded the Jos-based Mighty Jets Football Club, which flourished for decades.

“President Tinubu condoled with the government and the people of Nasarawa State and prayed for the soul of the late maverick politician,” the statement concluded.
