Ninety-three suspected internet fraudsters have been arrested following a raid by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on a hotel nestled within the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library complex in Abeokuta, Ogun state.

The operatives of the Lagos zonal directorate 2, launched the operation early Sunday morning, confiscating 18 vehicles, mobile phones and other valuables from the alleged cyber scammers.

The anti-graft agency confirmed the operation in a terse statement but withheld the name and location of the hotel.

“They were arrested on Sunday, August 10, 2025, in a sting operation in Abeokuta, Ogun State, following credible intelligence about their suspected involvement in internet crimes,” the statement reads.

“They will be charged in court as soon as investigations are concluded.”
