For the second consecutive week, AC Milan staged a comeback victory, this time defeating Como 2-1 at San Siro.

The win extends Milan’s unbeaten head-to-head record against Como to 14 matches, a streak dating back to the 1984/85 season.

After last week’s thrilling turnaround against Lecce, Milan aimed for another strong start. However, an early opportunity went begging when Yunus Musah failed to convert a clear chance within the first five minutes.

Como gradually grew into the game, testing Mike Maignan beyond the half-hour mark. The Milan goalkeeper was first called into action to deny Nico Paz, but moments later, he was unable to stop Lucas Da Cunha, who finished off a well-executed team move with a precise low strike into the bottom corner.

Como nearly doubled their lead before halftime when Marc-Oliver Kempf found space in the box, but his header was superbly saved by Maignan. The home crowd at San Siro voiced their frustration as Milan trudged off at the break, trailing and in need of inspiration.

    • Man City held by Brighton despite leading twice

Manager Sérgio Conceição responded with two halftime substitutions, including the surprising withdrawal of Theo Hernández. However, Como found the net again just five minutes into the second half through Da Cunha, only for the goal to be ruled out for a marginal offside after a VAR review.

Milan capitalized on the reprieve almost immediately. Tijjani Reijnders played a delicate pass to Christian Pulisic, who, from an acute angle, managed to squeeze the ball into the bottom corner.

With the game hanging in the balance, both teams had chances. Da Cunha forced another save from Maignan, while Reijnders rattled the crossbar with a powerful effort.

The decisive moment came through substitute Tammy Abraham, whose hold-up play set up Reijnders to break free down the right and fire in the winning goal at the near post.

Como introduced Dele Alli late in the game for his long-awaited return after more than two years, but his comeback was cut short after just 10 minutes when he received a red card for a reckless challenge on Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Milan held on for their third back-to-back league win of the season, climbing into the top seven, while Como’s winless streak extended to three matches.
