Barcelona will take on Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey semi-finals, while Real Madrid will face Real Sociedad in the other last-four clash, following Wednesday’s draw.

The first legs are scheduled for February 26, with Atletico and Real Madrid set to host the decisive second legs in the Spanish capital on April 2.

This marks the first time Barcelona and Atletico Madrid meet in the Copa del Rey semi-finals since 2017, when the Catalans edged out Diego Simeone’s side 3-2 on aggregate.

The draw also keeps alive the possibility of a Clasico final between Barcelona and Real Madrid, a rare occurrence in recent years.

The two Spanish giants have contested 18 Copa del Rey finals, with Real holding the upper hand with 11 victories, including their 2-1 triumph in the 2014 final in Valencia.

Barcelona have dominated their recent encounters with Real Madrid, winning 4-0 at the Santiago Bernabéu in LaLiga last October and securing a 5-2 victory in the Spanish Super Cup final in January.

As the LaLiga title race heats up, Real Madrid currently lead the standings with 50 points, one ahead of Atletico Madrid, while Barcelona trail closely in third place, just two points off the top.
