The IA Foundation, a non-governmental organisation, has donated N250,000 to Saint Academy School in response to the building collapse in Jos, Plateau State, which killed 22 students and injured 132.

Mrs. Ibironke Adeagbo, the foundation’s founder, sent a message to journalists on Thursday expressing her heartfelt condolences to everyone affected by the fall.

Ibironke characterised the occurrence as heartbreaking, sharing their emotions at this difficult time.

According to her, the deaths of young people and the injuries of many others are tragedies that affect everyone.

She also praised the courage and tenacity of individuals who worked tirelessly to help people in need.

This came just as the CEO expressed hope that the school would find comfort in the support of people around them.

“In light of this tragic event, we stand ready to offer any assistance within our capacity to aid in the recovery and support the efforts of the affected students and their families. To this end, we are donating N250,000 to assist in these efforts.

“On behalf of the IA Foundation, I wish to extend our deepest sympathies to you, your staff, the students, and the families affected by the tragic collapse of your school building in Jos.

“We are saddened by this heartbreaking incident and share your grief during this challenging time.

“We hope that you find solace in the support of those around you and that, in time, the school community will recover and rebuild, honouring the memories of those we have lost,” she said.

She praised the bravery and tenacity of everyone involved, particularly the first responders and medical staff who worked diligently to help those in need.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with you, the students, and their families as you navigate this unimaginable ordeal.

“The IA Foundation is committed to supporting educational institutions and the welfare of children, with a particular focus on out-of-school children,” she said.
