Mark Angel’s comedy channel with skits starring 8 year old award-winning comedian and his niece, Emmanuella, hit one million subscribers on their YouTube channel, setting the record for the most-viewed comedy channel in Nigeria and Africa.

This is a huge achievement for them. Having over 120 comedy skits on the channel and due to Nigerian’s affinity for laughter, they were one of the first comedians to really harness the power of social media.

Each Mark Angel episode easily has a million views in a week, making Emmanuella the biggest star on the Nigerian YouTube space.

The channel gained international recognition last year when Emmanuella won the award for the Top Subscribed Creator at the Sub-Saharan African YouTube Awards, the Best New Comedienne & Princess of Comedy awards at the Afro -Australia Music & Movie Awards (AAMMA) and her uncle, Mark Angel, was honoured with a leadership award.

Their fan base has grown from Nigeria, to the Philippines, the United Kingdom, Australia and other parts of the world, and comprises of people of all ages, from African moms to their children that they share these videos with. Emmanuella was also featured on CNN in December 2016.

The rules of comedy have played out well where this comedy channel is concerned. Emmanuella with the “real face” is cracking ribs now and will do so for years to come, regardless of what a lot of people think about her skits not being funny.
