About thirty innocent persons were allegedly arrested on ‎Thursday in Lokoja at the venue of flag-off of model primary school by Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, by security operatives for stoning the Governor.

As gathered by DailyPost, the security men drafted to Saint Luke Primary School, Adankolo to safeguard the Governor were said to have lost focuse by clustering inside the venue of the occasion, leaving outside security porous.

DAILY POST monitored that some angry youths protesting over non-payment of salary ‎for several months resorted to throwing stones at the Governor.

What would have resulted to serious attack, was later averted, but not without casualties as the stones flying from all directions hit a man on the head, resulting to serious bleeding. A few others were also injured in the attack.

The occasion was hurriedly brought to a close and it became a field day for law enforcement agents to make indiscriminate arrest of innocent persons while the wounded were taken to unknown clinic.

When DAILY POST reached out to the police spokesperson, he was said to have traveled out of town on official journey but an eyewitness account confirmed to DAILY POST that a man was hit on the head with the stone.
