Bandits have reportedly invaded Gidan Busa in Doka ward of Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State, killing two residents and abducting 16 on Friday night.

A source who spoke on the condition of anonymity said five people were shot and are currently being treated at an unnamed medical institution in the neighborhood.

This comes after the death of Isyaku Boderia, a feared bandit suspected of masterminding multiple high-profile crimes, including the kidnapping of Yauri schoolgirls, Greenfield University, and the breach of the Nigerian Defence Academy.

On Wednesday, troops from the Nigerian Army’s 1st Division murdered bandit kingpin Boderi in the Bada/Riyawa general area of Chikun and Igabi LGA of Kaduna State.

Following a heated fire battle, military personnel ambushed and neutralized Boderi and his associates.

However, on Friday night, bandits raided Gidan Busa again, firing indiscriminately, murdering two people, and capturing at least 16 residents.

According to the informant, the incident occurred at 11:30 p.m. while the people were deep sleeping.

He stated that no fewer than eight people were abducted in the home of one Alhaji Hassan; two of them were slain, and others were injured by gunshots.

He said, “Yesterday night (Friday), bandits came to Gidan Busa and abducted 16 residents of the area, killing two while five sustained gunshot injuries and are currently receiving treatment in the hospital.

“In the residence of one Alhaji Hassan, the bandits abducted eight persons, including his wife and children, and killed one of his boys and a female. The incident occurred at about 11.30 p.m. Those who sustained gunshot wounds are receiving treatment in the hospital.”

Neither the state administration nor the state police command issued an official confirmation.

When contacted by phone, the Kaduna State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, said he was on vacation and would contact the appropriate authorities and get back to us.

“I’m driving now. I will get back to you once I reach out to the area commander,” he said.

However, as of the time of posting this story, the police spokesman had yet to comment to our correspondent.
