A man has been found guilty of killing a 15-year-old boy, Dylan Bragger, in a dispute over a stolen motorcycle, authorities said.

Dylan Bragger was stabbed at least 23 times in a “brutal attack” on Digmoor Road in Skelmersdale in June 2023, according to Lancashire Police.

Felipe Figueiredo of Skelmersdale denied murder and claimed self-defense, but a jury at Preston Crown Court found him guilty.

The 28-year-old is scheduled to be sentenced on Friday.

Emergency services were dispatched to Digmoor Road just after 21:00 BST on June 29th, following reports of a stabbing.

Dylan had many stab wounds, according to police, and he died shortly after officers arrived.

Detectives initiated a murder investigation, revealing the activities of Birleywood resident Figueiredo, who, according to witnesses, confronted Dylan and another man about a stolen motorcycle.

Figueiredo was recorded on CCTV leaving his home on the evening of the murder after receiving a text message claiming that the motorbike stolen from his property the previous evening had been spotted in the Birleywood area.

The Teenager suffered at least 23 injuries in the attack, including to his head, neck, chest, back, belly, and arms.

Figueiredo went home just over half an hour later and called police at 21:30 to surrender himself before armed policemen arrived to arrest him.

He later claimed to have stabbed Dylan “a few times” in self-defense, according to authorities.
The Lancashire police said the jury rejected that claim after hearing about Dylan’s injuries and seeing evidence that contradicted Figueiredo’s account of the incident.

Inspector Andy Fallows said, “This is an utterly tragic case in which a 15-year-old boy with his whole life ahead of him has had that abruptly snatched away.”

The teenager’s family previously described Dylan as a “gentle giant” and said, “He was just a 15-year-old lad working towards being a car mechanic with his whole life ahead of him.”
