Nigerian music star Asake has dropped a groovy new song titled ‘Only Me,’ which signifies his journey to self-acceptance and contentment without the need for comparison to others.

This special release holds significant meaning for the artist.

He shared a heartfelt message on social media, saying, ‘I honour the journey I’ve been on and the journey yet to come. Happy birthday to a resilient soul!

A few weeks ago, Asake received his first-ever Grammy nomination for his song ‘Lonely At The Top.’ The track is currently nominated in the Best African Music Performance category at the upcoming Grammy Awards, scheduled for next month.

Asake has had a busy year, recently releasing the remix of ‘Lonely At The Top’ featuring H.E.R. The original track became the longest No. 1 hit in Nigeria. Furthermore, his album ‘Untitled’ peaked at No. 4 on Billboard’s World Albums Chart.

His immense success has allowed him to amass a huge fanbase. In 2023, he sold out two major shows at London’s O2 Arena and New York City’s Barclays Centre. Marking his first arena show in North America, Asake became the first African artist to headline and sell out this venue.
