The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a suspect named Ibrahim Salisu for allegedly murdering his brother, Malaimi Yellow, over an alleged sexual demand.
According to the police, the event occurred at 11:00 p.m. on Friday in the Araromi Street, Sango-Ota neighborhood.
The police told reporters that the 54-year-old had been nagging his younger brother for sex.
According to the authorities, the younger brother drew a machete to end Yellow’s life in response to his constant requests.
Odutola Omolola, the command’s spokeswoman, told reporters that Yellow’s body had been found and lodged at the Ifo General Hospital Mortuary for an autopsy.
“He has confessed to the crime. He told our men, who arrested him, that he killed his brother because he kept disturbing him for sex.
“His case will soon be transferred once the preliminary investigation is completed,” Odutola said.
According to crime statistics for December 2023, the state had recorded approximately 18 murder cases and an additional eight sexual-related offenses in the month alone.
As a result, the police stated that they were working around the clock with other local security authorities to stop the tide of crime in the state.
