Luis Manuel Diaz, Luis Diaz’s father, was successfully rescued from the left-wing insurgent group Ejercito de Liberacion Nacional.

On October 28, Diaz was kidnapped at gunpoint.

According to local media accounts, Mr. Daz was flown to the city of Valledupar by a military chopper.

According to reports, he will be examined there before being reunited with his family.

Authorities have declared that he is in good condition, with no signs of mistreatment, according to reports.

He was kidnapped in his family’s hometown of Barrancas. Cilenis Marulanda, the footballer’s mother, was temporarily kidnapped but was quickly freed.

The couples were approached by the gunmen while they stopped at a gas station in Barrancas, in the northern region of La Guajira, on the day of the kidnapping, according to reports.

Initially, police suspected a criminal gang was to blame.

However, a government delegation involved in ongoing peace negotiations with a rebel group has revealed that they possess “official knowledge” regarding the identity of the perpetrators behind a kidnapping incident. According to the delegation, the act was carried out by a unit affiliated with the ELN, shedding light on the responsible party.
