Two people have reportedly been kidnapped in the Federal Capital Territory’s Mpape district.
According to reports, the gunmen invaded the locality in the early hours of Sunday, July 16, 2023 and abducted two residents.
According to a resident of the area who identified himself as Yakubu, the gunmen numbered about six.
He said, “At about 1 am today, gunmen numbering six came to our area shot sporadically while the operation lasted, and kidnapped two people. “
SP Josephine Adeh, spokesman for the FCT police command, confirmed the incident.
She also stated that the police had recused the victims and that they will be reunited with their loved ones.
Adah stated that attempts are being made to apprehend the offenders.
She said, “There was a swift response from our men from Mpape and the command tactical team.
“They mounted pressure on the criminals which forced them to leave behind the victims. They would soon be reunited with their family members. We are also on the trail of the suspects”.
