Peter Obi, the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) who turned social media critic of the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration, has finally admitted to addressing Bola Tinubu as “Mr. President” on his official Twitter page.

Obi, however, suffered backlash from his angry followers, which made him delete the tweet, but the evidence had been screen-grabbed by attentive Nigerians.

Tinubu was declared the winner of the 2023 Presidential election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and is now the incumbent president.

Obi has challenged INEC’s declaration at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, but with no court judgement against Tinubu and the APC presidency.

Twitter Reactions To Obi’s Deleted Tweet

Tweeps like @Yeribabaa noted that “for the record, you admitted the PBAT administration is here to be.”

As Wale Adebayo predicted, they will probably put that tweet back up, but this time without the “Mr. President”. Followed up with “Lmao, you don’t disappoint.”

Also, @theoloriherself opined, “Tomorrow he will sew thread again. Then delete it after realising he tweeted nonsense. Radarada.

Obi returned hours later to chide Tinubu for his 120-motorcade trending video, the cost of governance, and his unwillingness to sacrifice for Nigerians after the deleted tweet.

“I’ve been asked questions related to cutting down the cost of governance and the complaints by Nigerians concerning a trending motorcade video. I wasn’t able to see the video, but I will repeat what Obi said.

He further said that the present Nigeria requires that all those who serve and lead must do so by example. Their behaviour and their public conduct must be in consonance with what society requires today.

We cannot continue to preach for the people to sacrifice without sacrificing too. The sacrifices must now start with the leaders, visibly and measurably at all times, because the people are suffering. We must now be at the forefront of addressing the suffering”.

Nigerians are not new to politicians deleting their opinions on their official social media pages without being criticized.
