Five individuals were murdered in a shooting at a residence in Cleveland, Texas, on Saturday, according to news reports quoting local police and officials.
The shooting occurred late Friday, and authorities were still seeking for the perpetrator, according to the story.
The San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office got a complaint about harassment from Cleveland about 11:31 p.m. local time, but when they arrived, they discovered many victims who had been shot, according to press reports.
According to the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect was a Mexican male who was inebriated, armed, and on the run.
The Cleveland Police Department did not immediately reply to a request for comment from reporters. The San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office could not be contacted for comment right away.
The victims’ identities and probable relationships to the suspect were not revealed by police, but they were all from Honduras, according to the newsmen.
The gunshots all occurred in the same house, with four victims confirmed dead at the scene and the fifth declared dead after being transferred to the hospital, according to the report.
According to the report, the youngest victim was 8 years old, and two female victims were discovered on top of two surviving children.
