The FCT High Court has issued an order prohibiting the National Chairman of the Labour Party, Mr Julius Abure, the National Secretary, Farouk Ibrahim, and two others from acting as National Officers of the party.

Others barred from acting as National Officers include the National Organizing Secretary, Mr Clement Ojukwu, and another.

On Wednesday in Abuja, Justice Hamza Muazu issued the blocking order while deciding on an ex-parte motion presented by Senior Advocate of Nigeria SAN, James Ogwu Onoja.

In the motion, Onoja described how the constrained national officials reportedly faked several papers from the FCT High Court in order to conduct illegal replacements in the previous general elections.

The papers included invoices, stamps, and statements from the Court authorising illegal activity.

The Senior Lawyer who submitted several documents verified to the Judge that the Chief Registrar of the bar wrote the Labour Party to disavow several documents used in Abure and three others’ alleged illegal activities.

According to Onoja, the four individuals will be tried in court following their conviction by a police probe, and orders for their detention have already been acquired.

Justice Muazu ruled in a short decision that the application and accompanying documents make a strong case for the request to be granted.

Following that, the Judge directed that the four individuals immediately cease acting as Labour Party National Officers.
