Blessing Whitney, a 12-year-old Chrisland student who died during the school’s inter-house sports, died as a result of electrocution, according to Adeniran, Whitney’s mother.
On Wednesday, she announced it in an Instagram live video.
“I want to thank everyone for your support, your calls and messages have helped us get through this very difficult period,” she said in the video.
“The autopsy results have been released, and Desola was electrocuted. My daughter died as a result of electrocution. For the past two weeks, I have been subjected to trauma. My baby died three weeks ago tomorrow. The school made me believe I was insane. They began to push the narrative that she was sick; she was sickly. They distributed letters and publications.
“People made fun of me and my family. My child died as a result of electrocution. I told the school I didn’t want any problems. All I want is answers. They arrived at my house and knelt.
“She stated that she is unsure. They refused to conduct an investigation.
“My daughter was butchered for autopsy. She was opened up. They took part of her kidney, liver, stomach contents, blood, brain, bone marrow. Omodesola was butchered just because Chrisland kept protecting their reputation.”
The media had earlier reported that Whitney’s father, Dr. Michael Adeniran, had also claimed that his daughter died of electrocution prior to the autopsy.
Meanwhile, the school management in a statement, had said that the deceased slumped in “public view and not under any hidden circumstances,” adding that she was rushed to the nearest medical facility for first aid.
