OGO and our resolve to stay on focus

In the aftermath of the presidential primary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, where our principal, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo participated, I have been confronted with concerns from members who genuinely wish to know the direction of the Osinbajo Grassroots Organization, OGO, which I have the privilege to pilot, with your support.

This statement becomes necessary to rightly situate the stand of the OGO and offer direction to our members as the 2023 General Elections draw closer.

First, let me deeply appreciate members that have subscribed to the ideals of the OGO and have stayed true to this cause since we started. We did not mince words from inception, that OGO will be committed solely to the Ideals, Values and Philosophy of Professor Yemi Osinbajo, SAN.

These are as illustrated in our assessment of his leadership style and capacity, with or without politics; and we made it clear, that such attractions would be continuously celebrated regardless of his public service portfolio.

This was quite explicit without an iota of confusion. Our silence on the Post-APC Presidential phase was also in tandem with this understanding.

However, in view of seemingly confusion and direction being sought by our members, let me restate here, that OGO was not founded strictly for political purpose; our involvement in the aspiration of our Principal at the last presidential contest was premised along our commitment to his leadership trust and be involved in his interests.

OGO, being a platform where lovers, supporters, admirers and mentees of the Vice President converged, with many drawn from political, faith, ethnic or regional diversity will be fair to allow the platform to continue existing along that definite mandate and not be distracted.

As a result, the Osinbajo Grassroots Organisation will continue to be the rallying point for the segment of Nigerians mentioned, and will not either mutate or transform itself into advancing any other cause other than those for which it was founded.

With this, and in absolute respect for our non-partisan members, or politicians of other persuasions that believe in our Principal, the OGO will remain as it is, and as such, NO Marketing, Publicity or Campaign for ANY CANDIDATE from ANY POLITICAL PARTY will be allowed or entertained on this platform.

We respect the diversity of our members, and they are at liberty to pitch their tents with any of the candidates already pushed forward by their different political parties; but as for OGO, our mandate and direction are well cut out.

Thank you so much for your understanding.
