President Bola Tinubu won the All Progressives Congress presidential primary election in Gombe State with 450,517 votes, defeating his co-contestant Stanley Osifo, who received zero votes.

Governor Muhammadu Yahaya said the outcome demonstrated the state’s unwavering support for Tinubu and the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The governor, who served as the APC presidential primary collation officer and Tinubu’s Gombe State coordinator, declared the results after tallying votes from the state’s 11 local governments.

Speaking at the APC collation center, Inuwa Yahaya said the exercise was peaceful and transparent and reflected party members’ trust in the APC leadership.

“As you can see, in my capacity as the APC presidential primary collation officer and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s coordinator for Gombe State, I have successfully collated the results from all the eleven local government areas where President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Mr. Stanley Osifo contested for the presidential ticket,” the governor stated.

“Gombe State has a total of 550,516 registered APC members. After collating and summing up votes cast across the eleven local government areas, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu secured an overwhelming 450,517 votes, while Mr. Stanley Osifo recorded zero votes.”

Yahaya stated that the results proved that APC members in Gombe State are unified and dedicated to the Tinubu administration’s continuation beyond 2027.

He stated that the tremendous support registered during the primary demonstrated widespread acceptance of Tinubu’s leadership and developmental ideas throughout the country.

“I am speaking not in my capacity as governor, but as the duly appointed collation officer for the APC presidential primaries in Gombe State. I will proceed to Abuja to officially submit the results to the party’s national secretariat,” he added.

The governor also praised party stakeholders, electoral authorities, security agencies, media members, and APC supporters for ensuring the exercise was conducted peacefully throughout the state.

In his remarks, Gombe State APC chairman Mohammed Ndus called the exercise historic and a significant step in the party’s preparations for the 2027 elections.

According to him, the calm primary indicated that the APC in Gombe State is still unified under Governor Yahaya’s leadership.

He expressed confidence that Tinubu’s support by party members in the state would result in an electoral triumph for the APC in 2027.

Ndus also praised party candidates who won the primaries and urged those who lost to support the party’s overall goal ahead of the general election.

The collation process was overseen by officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission, led by the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Umar Gajiram, as well as leaders of security agencies, election observers, and media representatives.
