Two years after the Railway Police Station in Agege, Lagos state was razed during the EndSARS protest by alleged angry protesters the police station is yet to be renovated to serve citizens.
Chronicle NG reports that the once vibrant police station is now in terrible condition with no roof and sign of life except for hoodlums to hide in.
Our reporter noted that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of the station has since converted his car to his office in order to attend to civil matters.
A resident in the area, Akeem Salau told Chronicle NG that they are surprised that the police authority has not deemed it fit to rebuild the station two years after the attack.
“This police station is in a strategic place it should not be allowed to be in this present condition. Whenever I pass through this place, I feel pity for the policemen here,” he said.
Quizzing that, “How can they carry out their duties effectively under this condition. The authority should as a matter of urgency find a solution to it,” he advised.
Attempts to reach out to the local police authority to comment on the matter proved abortive.
