    15 abductees escape from their captors in Niger

    Fifteen people abducted alongside the Tanko Salihu Islamiyya students in Tegina, Niger State have escaped from their captors.

    The abductees claimed they escaped while the guards watching them were deeply asleep.

    According to the victims, they were separated from the children after the abduction.

    They said they didn’t know where the children were taken to.

    An official said the government had to send reinforcement into the forest to get others when one of the victims emerged from captivity.

    The escaped victim arrived in the town on Saturday night while the others arrived on Sunday morning and afternoon.

    It was learnt those who escaped had been admitted in health facilities.

    Some residents of Tegina confirmed the arrival of the abductees to newsmen.

    It was learnt that they were received by Vice-Chairman of Rafi local government area at Birnin Gwari community of the local government area.
