It was a dark Easter Sunday after unknown gunmen reportedly attacked a community in Jema’a Local Goverment Area of Kaduna State, which left 13 Christians dead.

Details are still sketchy right now, but it is believed to be part of the Southern Kaduna Violence involving the fulani Herdsmen and local farming communities, which so far have left over 200 people dead in past attacks.

Governor Nasir El-Rufai in a statement through his spokesperson, Samuel Aruwan condemned the attack and extended his condolence to the victims and their families. He noted that security personnels have been dispersed to get rid of bandits from the forest areas.

Samuel Aruwan in a Facebook post said the governor launched an operation Harbin Kunama II’, a necessary operation that’d end violent in the parts of Southern Kaduna noting that it would also help the Army deal with anyone responsible for the attacks.

The governor also requested support from communities to the security agencies as the Nigerian Army gets set to commence a major operation tagged ‘Operation Harbin Kunama II’, including assisting the Nigerian Army with vital information that could aid a successful clampdown on elements responsible for this terror attacks on our citizens.
