A group of Israeli captives were exchanged for a group of Palestinian inmates for the fourth night in a row Under the interim Israel-Hamas truce.

The 33 Palestinians were released from Israeli prisons shortly after midnight.

Previously, Hamas has released 11 hostages who are citizens of France, Germany, and Argentina.

Qatari mediators announced a two-day extension of the cease-fire on Monday, encompassing Tuesday and Wednesday. The White House confirmed the extension.

The UN has taken advantage of the cease-fire to expand essential aid delivery to Gazans, but has emphasized that the amounts represent a drop in the bucket.

Gazans have taken advantage of the cease-fire to obtain supplies and travel across the territory, in many cases to return to their homes, inspect the damage, and hunt for winter clothing as the weather turns rainy and windy.

At the time of filing this report, there has been no official confirmation from Israel on the extension of the four-day truce, which Qatar, the US, and Hamas all say has been agreed upon.

Speaking to reporters on Monday, Israeli military spokesman Daniel Hagari said: “Nothing is final until it actually happens.

“Things are progressing tonight as well, but patience is required.”

“Beloved families, the tremendous pressure you are under and the stress and uncertainty during these hours of waiting are constantly at the top of our minds. Our hearts go out to you.

“It is our duty to bring home all the kidnapped and missing people, either through the continuation of this framework or through the continuation of the next stages of the war,” he added.
