West Ham United have dismissed Graham Potter just eight months into his tenure, following a dismal start to the 2025/26 campaign.
The former Brighton and Chelsea manager managed only one victory since August, a 3-0 away win against Nottingham Forest while suffering five defeats in the same period. Overall, Potter secured just six wins from 25 matches in charge of the Hammers.
In a statement, the club announced: “Results and performances over the course of the second half of last season and the start of the 2025/26 season have not matched expectations, and the Board of Directors believe that a change is necessary to help improve the team’s position in the Premier League as soon as possible.”
The club also confirmed the departure of members of Potter’s backroom staff:
“The Club can confirm that Assistant Coach Bruno Saltor, First Team Coaches Billy Reid and Narcis Pelach, Lead Goalkeeper Coach Casper Ankergren, and Goalkeeper Coach Linus Kandolin have also left with immediate effect.”
West Ham have already begun the search for a new manager. Slaven Bilic is being linked with a possible return to the club, while Nuno Espirito Santo is also reportedly on the shortlist.
With Everton up next on Monday night, the Hammers are yet to appoint a caretaker manager to lead the team.
