    Veteran Yoruba actress Sidikat Odunkanwi, professionally known as Iyabo Oko, has reportedly passed on.

    Her daughter, Bisi Aisha, announced her demise today on Facebook, saying that the actress died on Wednesday evening.

    “May ur soul Rest In peace, mummy”, she wrote.

    Nollywood actress Foluke Daramola-Salako took to Instagram to confirm her death.

    She wrote: “And finally we lost her. Rip Iyabo Oko. We did our best, but God knows best”.

    Born on the 15th of November 1960 in Iwo Local Government Area of Osun State, Sidikat had stage names such as “Iyabo Oko” “Apoti Aje and Sisi Mama”.

    Prior to her death, the 62-year-old actress, who has featured in prominent movies, battled illness, which forced her to take a protracted leave from the film industry.

    Olamide, her daughter, disclosed last year that her mother was diagnosed with an ischemic stroke roughly five years ago but kept her health difficulties private.
