The University of Jos (UNIJOS) student who was attacked by a mob at the Katako Junction area of Jos, Plateau State, survived the ordeal and is responding to treatment.
Longji Molshak, a 300-level geology student at the University of Jos, was attacked by an irate mob on Wednesday shortly after the relaxation of the 48-hour curfew by the Plateau State government.
In a now viral clip making the rounds on social media, the UNIJOS student could be seen attacked with various objects by the irate mob who beat him to a pulp, leaving him for dead.
However, it was gathered that the student was rushed to Our Lady of Apostles (OLA) hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.
Video clips show Molshak lying on a hospital bed, with a bandage wrapped around his head and bruises all over his body.
The victim could barely speak. However, he was able to respond to the question when he was asked his name and if he had any siblings in the institution.
His parents or guardian are being encouraged to locate him at the popular OLA hospital.
The mob attack on the student followed the recent chaos in many parts of Jos, after the State Government relaxed the 48-hour curfew in the state capital.
The curfew was imposed in a bid to restore normalcy in the state after terrorists attacked and killed no fewer than 28 people in Angwan Rukuba on Palm Sunday.
