US President Donald Trump has issued a stark warning to Tehran, saying Iran “better not” attack the United States or face a military response “with a force that has never been seen before.”
Trump made the statement on his Truth Social platform amid rising tensions between Washington and Tehran following coordinated US and Israeli strikes on Iranian targets.
The warning comes as the Middle East faces heightened instability after Israel described its recent military action as “pre-emptive”. Iran has vowed retaliation, fuelling fears of a broader regional conflict.
In his message, Trump stressed that any attack on American personnel, assets or allies would trigger overwhelming force. The US administration maintains that it is prepared to defend its interests against any aggression.
Iran has not formally responded to Trump’s latest remarks. However, senior Iranian officials have previously condemned US and Israeli actions, warning of “serious consequences”.
Security analysts say Trump’s comments significantly raise the stakes at a delicate moment. The prospect of direct confrontation between Washington and Tehran has renewed concerns among global markets and energy traders, particularly over the stability of oil supply routes in the Gulf.
Diplomatic observers warn that further escalation could destabilise neighbouring countries and draw in regional actors. The international community is now watching closely to see whether back-channel diplomacy can prevent a wider crisis.
For now, Trump’s message signals a firm deterrence posture, making clear that Washington stands ready to act if Iran launches any direct attack on the United States.
