A trailer conveying agriculture produce has killed 17 school children on Tuesday afternoon in the Grammar School area of Ojodu Berger in Lagos state.
The school children killed by the trailer are students of Babsfafunwa Millenium Senior and Junior Secondary School.
Chronicle NG reports that some students were injured as a result of the accident and have been rushed to the hospital.
The unfortunate incident happened as students who have closed from school were returning home.
The accident has since impeded vehicular movement even as law enforcement officers are trying to resolve the traffic situation and clear off the trailers from the road.
Chronicle NG reports that the driver tried to escape after killing the children, but he was chased and captured.
The incident sparked civil disturbances in the area as other aggrieved students started attacking other motorists and vandalising vehicles.
The incident comes three days after eight children were found dead locked up in a car in another part of Lagos city.
