Chimaroke Nnamani, a former governor of Enugu State has claimed the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, to would emerge as Nigeria’s next president.

Nnamani, who represents Enugu-East in the Senate, insisted that Tinubu would be elected president on February 25 next year.

His views were shared by some members of the Asiwaju Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) who visited his country home in Agbani in Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State on Monday.

The members included former Senate President, Ken Nnamani; APC PCC spokesman in the Southeast, Josef Onoh; Onyemuche Nnamani, and A. C. Udeh.

Nnamani told his guests that it was important for people to know that his support for Tinubu’s presidential ambition was not borne out of personal interest but for mainstreaming of Igboland into Nigeria’s politics.

His words: ”Come February 25, 2023, Asiwaju Tinubu will be elected the next president of Nigeria. There’s a need for people to know that my choice (for Tinubu) was not for personal reasons but for mainstreaming of the Southeast into Nigeria politics.”

Spokesman for the PCC in Southeast, Josef Onoh hailed the two Nnamani’s for being firm in their support for Tinubu, saying: “ I have always made it clear that time has come not just for renewed hope for Nigeria but for our future generation.”

He noted that Senator Nnamani had remained consistent in abiding by the Asaba, Enugu and Lagos accord of the southern governors that the next president should be of a southern origin.

Onoh said: “I thank Senator Chimaroke Nnamani for standing by that principle and his commitment towards ensuring that Asiwaju emerges the next president of Nigeria.

“Asiwaju as a father has come to a point where he said that what he wants to offer is a better foundation for all parts of the country and I’m with Asiwaju in that course,”

Onoh also praised Ken Nnamani for engaging in the process that would lead to Tinubu’s victory on January 25.

“Your commitments to project Nigeria has renewed hope of the Southeasterners’ reintegration and your politics without sentiment is a guide to our people,” he said.

Meanwhile, Ekiti State Deputy Governor Christianah Afuye has assured the APC PCC that Tinubu would secure over 75 percent of the total vote to be cast in the state.

Afuye described Tinubu as an in-law, political leader, and mentor to many great politicians of Ekiti extraction.

The deputy governor spoke in Ikere Local Government Area where she donated cash and consumables to Ogoga-in-council and 11 wards to mark the Christmas and New year festivities.

Describing Tinubu as one of the best brains and most experienced leaders in the country, she advised the people to get their Permanent Voter Cards “in readiness to vote Asiwaju… because he is our own in Ekiti.”

“I know that Senator Bola Tinubu will visit our Kabiyesi anytime he is here in Ekiti State to campaign. I know Ekiti and Ikere in particular will declare block votes for him. We are not expecting less than 75% of votes for our great leader in Ekiti.

“We all know that Asiwaju is one leader that has the capacity to build and nurture. He did it in Lagos State as a governor. Let us allow him to do it for Nigeria,’” Afuye said in a statement by her Special Assistant (Media), Victor Ogunje.

She said the APC has majority in the National Assembly would smoothen governance and fast-track progress if Tinubu became the President.
