President Bola Tinubu has inaugurated a 300-bed specialist hospital at Millennium Square in Kaduna state.

The facility has been named the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Specialist Hospital.

The hospital consists of nine wings: maternal and child health, radiology and imaging, intensive care unit, special care unit and others.

The Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority is also said to have given approval for the establishment of a cancer center and nuclear facility in the complex.

Speaking at the ceremony, Uba Sani, the state governor, requested Tinubu’s intervention in building the cancer centre as “that’s the only thing missing”.

Responding, Tinubu commended Sani for his developmental projects and impacts on the people of the state.

“We’ve witnessed progress. You prioritise people. It is only a far-sighted leader who cares about his people that can establish this for their health care needs. I am very proud of what you are doing,” he said.

“I can assure you that our intervention is not in vain, and we will grant it.”

Tinubu arrived in Kaduna on Thursday to inaugurate developmental projects carried out by the state government.

He was received by Tajudeen Abbas, speaker of the house of representatives; Barau Jibrin, deputy senate president; and Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, emir of zazzau.

Other governors who received the president include Hope Uzodimma of Imo state; Babajide Sanwo-Olu, of Lagos; Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti; Monday Okpebholo of Edo; Umar Namadi of Jigawa; and AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Kwara state governor.
