President Bola Tinubu is attending the All Progressives Congress’s 15th National Executive Committee meeting at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja.
The session began at 6:05 p.m., when the president appeared in the hall.
Friday’s meeting is the party’s second NEC summit in 2025, following an earlier session in February.
It is also the first NEC meeting since Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda became the APC national leader in July.
The Taraba State Governor, Kefas Agbu, conducted the opening prayer and presented the Christian prayer.
The gathering came only days after the APC rescheduled its National Caucus and NEC sessions from December 15-16 to December 18-19, with the NEC held at the Presidential Villa.
Our correspondent saw several governors and high party leaders at the event, including current APC governors, previous governors, and National Assembly principal officers.
Six governors who recently defected to the APC from the Peoples Democratic Party were also present, including Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri, Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno, and Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas.
The APC National Executive Committee is the party’s top decision-making body between conventions.
It brings together the president, vice president, national chairman, members of the National Working Committee, governors, and other key stakeholders to make binding decisions about party administration, policy direction, and election preparations.
