Dr. Bello Matawalle, Minister of State for Defence, has expressed strong confidence that President Bola Tinubu will win a clear victory in the 2027 presidential election, asking Nigerians and political players to support the President’s reform plan.
Speaking at his Abuja residence on Saturday, Dr. Matawalle stated that President Tinubu’s leadership and policy direction had put the country on the path to economic stability, institutional strengthening, and national togetherness.
The minister warned against what he called premature political maneuvers and power battles aimed at undermining the existing administration, claiming that such acts are self-serving and harmful to Nigeria’s democratic stability.
He said, “President Tinubu has taken bold steps to stabilize the economy and strengthen national institutions.
“Those plotting to unseat him are motivated by personal interests rather than the public good. If allowed to complete his reform program, I am confident the President will win convincingly in 2027.”
Matawalle stated that the President’s measures are already being felt throughout the country, particularly in the northern area, noting improvements in governance, security initiatives, and institutional reforms.
He urged political actors to use constructive engagement rather than divisive approaches, emphasizing that national interest should take precedence over personal ambition.
The minister also urged Nigerians to embrace government policies that promote long-term economic growth, enhance security, and strengthen national unity.
“Rather than engaging in rancor and short-term political calculations, we should focus on solutions that deliver jobs, security, and stronger institutions for Nigerians,” he said.
