President Bola Tinubu on Friday appointed Tunji Olaopa as chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission.
Chronicle NG reports that Olaopa appointment was one of the twelve made by President Tinubu.
Tinubu also approved the appointment of eleven state representatives to the Commission.
A statement issued by Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu’s spokesperson, noted that Olaopa appointment was in line with Section 154 of the Nigerian Constitution.
The member state representatives of the Commission leadership team are Ibrahim Jalo, representing Adamawa, Gombe, and Taraba.
Others are Grace Isu, representing Akwa Ibom, and Cross River.
Chamberlain Nwele representing Anambra, Ebonyi, and Enugu.
Rufus N. Godwins representing Rivers, Delta, and Bayelsa.
Adamu Hussein representing Niger and the FCT.
Aminu Nabegu representing Jigawa and Kano.
Hindatu Abdullahi representing Kaduna and Katsina.
Shehu Aliyu representing Kebbi, Sokoto, and Zamfara.
Odekunle Aduke representing Kogi and Kwara.
Jide Jimoh representing Lagos and Ogun.
Festus Oyebade representing Osun and Oyo.
The statement said, “As one of fourteen Federal Executive Bodies into which Section 154 of the Nigerian Constitution (1999, Amended) empowers the president to appoint its Chairman and members, President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of the following Nigerians to serve in the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC), subject to the confirmation of the Nigerian Senate.
“Upon confirmation, the new FCSC leadership is expected to commence work with effect from November 30, 2023, following the expiration of the tenure of the current Federal Civil Service Commission Chairman and membership on November 29, 2023.
“The President anticipates that the new FCSC leadership will competently facilitate the transformation, reorientation, and digitization of the Federal Bureaucracy to enable, and not stifle, growth and enhanced private sector participation in the development of the Nigerian economy, in full adherence to the Renewed Hope Agenda of his administration.
