President Bola Tinubu is presently holding separate talks with Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Our correspondent noted that the two governors arrived to meet Tinubu at the State House separately at about 3:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., with Mutfwang coming first.
The sessions take place against the backdrop of growing political realignments, as key stakeholders begin strategic consultations ahead of the 2027 general election.
Makinde, a Peoples Democratic Party member, is one of the few PDP governors who have remained loyal to the opposition despite a wave of defections to the ruling All Progressives Congress.
The Oyo governor is widely considered to be pursuing a presidential bid and is positioning himself for the PDP’s 2027 presidential nomination.
