President Bola Tinubu praised the Super Eagles’ excellent performance against Algeria in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations quarterfinals.
Tinubu praised the team’s performance as “brilliant” and “inspiring” in a post on his X account (@officialABAT) on Saturday, stating that the players had the full support of Nigerians as they pursue continental victory.
He described the performance as “brilliant and inspiring.” Go Super Eagles! “You have the support of every Nigerian.”
Victor Osimhen and Akor Adams scored goals to assist the Super Eagles in defeating Algeria 2-0 in Marrakech, advancing them to the tournament’s semi-finals and extending their winning streak.
Nigeria has been one of the standout teams at the AFCON, combining attacking prowess with excellent defense as they seek their fourth continental title.
The President’s statement adds to the growing public enthusiasm for the squad following their most recent victory.
Nigeria will meet Morocco in the semi-finals, with the Super Eagles hoping to build on their success and go to the final.
The Super Eagles have won the Africa Cup of Nations three times before, in 1980, 1994, and 2013, and they are hoping for a fourth trophy.
