President Bola Tinubu has departed St Lucia for Brazil on the second half of his two-nation tour.
Tinubu will attend the 2025 BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro, which will take place on July 6-7, 2025.
The president left the Caribbean country following a six-day state visit that began on June 28, 2025.
Prime Minister Philip Pierre saw Tinubu off at Hewanorra’s Lucian International Airport.
During the state visit, the Nigerian leader met separately with Saint Lucian authorities, Governor General Cyril Charles and Prime Minister Pierre.
On Monday, he spoke in a special joint session of the Senate and House of Assembly in Sandals Grande.
During the visit, Nigeria and Saint Lucia formalised diplomatic ties and signed a Technical Manpower Assistance arrangement for the deployment of experienced Nigerian professionals to the Caribbean state.
Tinubu is one of four African leaders at Rio de Janeiro for the 17th BRICS Summit.
Leaders from Egypt, Ethiopia, and South Africa are all expected to attend the conference.
