President Bola Tinubu will leave Abuja on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, for Dakar, Senegal, to attend the inauguration of Senegal’s President-elect, Bassirou Faye.

His Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, announced this in a statement titled ‘President Tinubu will attend the inauguration of Senegal’s President-elect Bassirou Faye’.

Tinubu, the Chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, is visiting Senegal for the first time since taking office, at the invitation of the government.

“He will join other regional leaders to witness the inauguration at the Diamniadio Exhibition Centre on Tuesday,” said Ngelale.

Yusuf Tuggar, Minister of Foreign Affairs, will accompany the President on the trip, as will other top government officials.

It is anticipated that he will return to Nigeria at the end of the inauguration.

Senegal is Tinubu‘s fifth African state visit and his 17th foreign destination since taking office ten months ago.

He has visited Paris, France (thrice); London, the United Kingdom; Bissau, Guinea-Bissau (twice); Nairobi, Kenya; Porto Norvo, Benin Republic; New Delhi, India; Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates; New York, the United States of America; Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; Berlin, Germany; Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; and Doha, Qatar.
