The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, has suffered severe backlash over her claims that President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda is yielding fruit.

Chronicle NG reports that Mrs. Tinubu stated that Some of Tinubu’s initiatives under the Renewed Hope Agenda are already beginning to bear fruit and will soon reach all communities across the country.

The First Lady said this at the inauguration of the Women Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria in Abuja on Monday, saying that the initiatives would benefit all Nigerians, particularly women.

Mrs. Tinubu, who was represented by Mrs. Adedayo Benjamins-Laniyi, the Mandate Secretary for Women Affairs in the Federal Capital Territory, stated that “the economic situation of the country is already improving.”

Reacting to her claims, an X handle identified as the Office of the Nigerian Youth, noted that under Tinubu’s watch, Nigerians are impoverished by hyperinflation.

The X user also accused the First Lady of lying and propagating cheap propaganda.

“Which fruits is it yielding? The price of fuel has increased and refused to come down. Food is seven times more expensive. ordinary water price is three times, and electricity is the worst since independence. All you do is lie and propaganda.”

In his reaction to the First Lady’s statement, Alexander QM alleged that the First Family got richer at the expense of the poor masses.

“Probably you meant, you all got wealthier!

“The rate of starvation in Nigeria skyrocketed. I looked up the extreme poverty rate in Nigeria; it’s the worst to see.

“And you say his renewing hope is working. Since he kicked out Binance, what’s the result for the dollar?

“I trade every day; nothing changes,” Alexander notes.

Omo Iya Pupa, stated that the Tinubu-led administration is only “yielding fruits for you (the First Lady) and your family because it’s only planting bitterness in the hearts of the people.”

“Where are the fruits? Fruit of the economy is downward, Naira is dipping, surging foodstuffs, kidnap everywhere,” Olusegun argues.

“This administration is all about propaganda,” Kelechi notes. “Is she trying to live in denial of the harsh reality of Nigerians, or is she talking about a different Nigeria?” he added.

For Uncle T. I, he noted that the Renewed Hope Agenda is only yielding “fruits of sweat, famine, hunger, poverty, insecurities, unemployment, corruption, looting, embezzlement, sadness,  and predicament.”
