Nigeria’s Super Eagles are expected to resume training after an earlier boycott due to unpaid allowances.

On Tuesday, Super Eagles players and officials boycotted their scheduled evening training session due to overdue payments owed by the Nigeria Football Federation.

The players are yet to receive their qualifying allowances for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and the 2026 World Cup playoff.

Details of the agreements and terms reached between the team and the football administrators were not revealed.

In a post on X, Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong acknowledged that the issues had been addressed and assured fans that the players are “as before, focused on the games ahead.”

He wrote, “Issue resolved. We are together and, as before, focused on the games ahead!”

On Thursday, the team will face Gabon in one of the 2026 African World Cup players.

The victor will face either Congo DR or Cameroon in the final for the solitary African spot in the intercontinental playoff.
