Simone Inzaghi has officially been unveiled as the new manager of Saudi Arabian giants Al Hilal, marking the end of his four-year stint with Inter Milan.

The announcement confirms that Inzaghi has signed a two-year contract with the Riyadh-based club. His deal, reportedly worth around €25 million per season, will make him the highest-paid manager in the world.

The agreement takes immediate effect, with his first assignment set to be a high-profile Club World Cup clash against Real Madrid on June 18.

Inzaghi departs Inter after a largely successful spell in charge, during which he secured one Serie A title, two Coppa Italias, three Italian Super Cups, and guided the club to two Champions League finals.

He leaves amid a bittersweet end to the 2024/25 campaign. Inter had been favourites to clinch both the Serie A and the Champions League titles.

However, a late-season stumble against Lazio handed the domestic crown to Napoli, and a crushing 5-0 defeat to PSG in Munich dashed their European hopes.

Despite those setbacks, Inzaghi remains one of the most respected tacticians in world football and is now set to lead Al Hilal through a new era of ambition and investment.

His new club stated that he has “put pen to paper on a two-year contract that will begin immediately, allowing him to take over for the Club World Cup, with his first competitive match in charge to be against Real Madrid on June 18.”
