Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have described Neymar as a “legend of the club” after the Brazilian departed to complete a £78 million move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.
The Brazilian completed a move away from Paris after joining for a world record fee of £198 million six years ago to pursue a new venture in Saudi Arabia at the age of 31.
Speaking on his transfer to Al-Hilal, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi hailed the impact that Brazilian has had on the success of the club and stated in an emotional farewell that “It is always difficult to say goodbye to such an exceptional player as Neymar one of the best in the world.
“I will never forget the day he arrived at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and what he brought to our club and the project over the past six years.
“We have lived through great moments, and Neymar will always be part of our history. I want to thank Neymar and his family.
“We wish Neymar all the best for the future and his next adventure,” he added.
The former Barcelona player is set to earn a whopping £260 million after becoming the Saudi Pro League’s latest marquee arrival, following in the footsteps of the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mane, and Karim Benzema.
