France and Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has disclosed that he had turned down Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City to join Juventus in the last transfer market.
According to a post on Fabrizio Romano’s X handle, the midfield maestro stated, “Yes, I turned down Pep Guardiola’s approach to accept Juventus’ deal. That story is true,” he told Gazzetta.
He also declared that he will never join Serie A rivals AC Milan and that even if AC Milan’s senior advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic contacts him, he will not betray Juventus.
The Court of Arbitration for Sports reduced Pogba’s four-year sentence to 18 months, allowing him to return to football in January of next year.
There are reports of ongoing talks between Juventus and Pogba to terminate the player’s contract.
As a result, the France World Cup winner has been linked to several European clubs, including Marseille.
“Will I join AC Milan? Impossible. Even if Ibrahimović calls me, he knows I won’t betray Juve,” Pogba told Sky Sport.
“I do not see myself with any other jersey. My focus is on getting back into the Juve shirt.”
