James Justin scored twice as Leicester beat Championship QPR in an eight-goal thriller at a foggy King Power Stadium to reach the FA Cup fourth round.
Stephy Mavididi, Facundo Buonanotte and Jamie Vardy were also on target for Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side, who went into the game having lost their past five Premier League games,
Justin scored the opener when he stretched to poke home Buonanotte’s curling free-kick from close range.
Jonathan Varane levelled for QPR with a fine strike from distance, but Mavididi sidefooted Leicester back in front from Bilal El Khannouss’ low cross.
El Khannouss turned provider again three minutes later when he surged into the area and crossed for Buonanotte to power home a header from six yards.
Rayan Kolli seized on a loose pass from Harry Winks to drag QPR back into the game seconds before half time.
But Leicester restored their two-goal lead at the start of the second period when Harrison Ashby handled in the area and Vardy – on his 38th birthday – scored the spot-kick.
Justin scored his second with fine angled drive into the bottom corner, before Wout Faes’ stunning drive from the edge of the area finished the scoring in stoppage-time.
The draw for the fourth round of the FA Cup will be live on BBC One and BBC iPlayer following the conclusion of the Arsenal v Manchester United match, which kicks off at 15:00 GMT on Sunday.
