Eric Chelle, the Super Eagles’ head coach, announced his final 23-man roster on Tuesday, ahead of Nigeria’s 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
Last Monday, the coach presented an extended provisional squad of 39 players.
These will be his first matches in command of the three-time African champions.
The roster consists of three goalkeepers, six defenders, six midfielders, and seven forwards, with a mix of veteran and fresh players.
The full squad list includes:
Goalkeepers: Amas Obasogie, Kayode Bankole, Stanley Nwabali.
Defenders: Bright Osayi-Samuel, Bruno Onyemaechi, Calvin Bassey, Ola Aina, Igoh Ogbu, William Troost-Ekong.
Midfielders: Alex Iwobi, Alhassan Yusuf, Joe Aribo, Papa Daniel Mustapha, Raphael Onyedika, Wilfred Ndidi.
Forwards: Ademola Lookman, Moses Simon, Nathan Tella, Sadiq Umar, Samuel Chukwueze, Tolu Arokodare, Victor Boniface, Victor Osimhen.
A notable omission from the squad is the captain of the Super Eagles, Ahmed Musa.
Musa, who currently plays for Nigerian Premier League side Kano United, was with the team at the African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast; however, he did not play any match.
At the time of filing this report, the Super Eagles coach had yet to give any reason for omitting the Nigerian forward from the squad.
