Brazil overcame arch-enemies Argentina to win a first FIFA Futsal World Cup in 12 years and record-extending sixth overall.
Ferrao and Rafa got their goals, while Willian made several superb saves to help the Selecao return to the pinnacle.
Marquinhos Xavier’s side took control from the outset and didn’t have to wait long for their reward. The sorcery of Leandro Lino won a free-kick. Marcenio took it, brilliantly picking out his room-mate Ferrao, who stabbed it home from the back post. Rafa made it 2-0, scrambling a Felipe Valerio cross over the line with his knee.
Argentina threw everything they had at Brazil in the second half, but found Marlon and Willian in outstanding form.
They began employing the flying goalkeeper with six minutes on the clock, and pulled one back with less than two minutes to go through Mati Rosa.
Brazil nevertheless held on to win the biggest final in the tournament’s history.
