The Super Eagles of Nigeria have got an injury boost ahead of their quarterfinal match against Angola, with goalie Stanley Nwabali returning to training.
Concerns had grown regarding the Chippa United goalkeeper’s fitness ahead of the Angola match after sustaining an injury in the previous encounter against Cameroon.
The 27-year-old has been brilliant in goal for the Super Eagles, conceding just once in four matches during the 2017 AFCON campaign.
In a video published by journalist Pooja on X, Nwabali could be seen practicing with the keeper trainer at the team’s most recent training session.
This comes after a scan of Nwabali’s injury, the results of which are still awaited.
However, with the first choice goalkeeper back in training, the goalie isn’t completely out of the game against Angola.
The Super Eagles will face the Palancas Negras of Angola on Friday at the Félix Houphouët-Boigny Stadium in Abidjan.
