    Akpabio announces 74 senate standing committees, leadership of 10th senate

    Senate President Godswill Akpabio has announced the 74 Senate standing committees of the 10th Senate as well as the Leaders of the various committees.

    Akpabio announced the names on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, during plenary on the floor of the red chamber.

    He urged all those appointed to head the various committees to work assiduously to ensure the success of the 10th Assembly and Nigeria at large.

    The Senate committees and their leaders include the Senate Committee on Air Force, headed by Senator Akwashiki Godiya; the Senate Committee on Anti-Corruption and Financial Crimes, headed by Senator Udende Emmanuel; the Senate Committee on Aviation, headed by Senator Buhari Abdulfatai; the Senate Committee on Capital Market, headed by Senator Osita Izunaso; the Senate Committee on Establishment and Public Services, headed by Senator Cyril Fasuyi; and the Senate Committee on Ecology and Climate Change, headed by Sen. Seriake Dickson.

    Others are the Senate Committee on Housing and Urban Development headed by Senator Aminu Tambuwal, the Senate Committee on Interior headed by Senator Adams Oshiomhole, the Senate Committee on Downstream Petroleum headed by Senator Ahmad Lawan, the Senate Committee on Defence headed by Senator Wadada Ahmed, the Senate Committee on Public Accounts headed by Senator Wadada Ahmed, the Senate Committee on Special Duties headed by Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan, the Senate Committee on Sustainable Development Goals headed by Senator Idiat Oluranti, the Senate Committee on Works headed by Senator Patrick Ndubuisi, and the Senate Committee on Appropriation headed by Senator Solomon Adeola.

    Also, Senate Committee on FERMA headed by Senator Usaini Babangida; Senate Committee on Finance headed by Senator Musa Mohammed Sani; Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance, and Other Financial Institutions headed by Senator Abiru Adeyokunbo; Senate Committee on Army headed by Senator Abdulaziz Yaradua; Senate Committee on Customs, Excise, and Tariff headed by Senator Isa Jibrin; Senate Committee on Cooperation and Integration NEPAD headed by Senator Ishaku Elisha; Senate Committee on Diaspora and NGO headed by Senator Victor Umeh; Senate Committee on Education, Basic and Secondary headed by c; Senate Committee on Employment and productivity headed by Senator Diket Plang.

    Other committees are the Senate Committee on Environment, headed by Senator Akintunde Yunus; the Senate Committee on Public Petitions, headed by Senator Imasen Neda; the Senate Committee on FCT, headed by Senator Ibrahim Folarin; the Senate Committee on Federal Character and Governmental Affairs, headed by Senator Allwell Iheanacho; and the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, headed by Senator Sani Bello.
